The Arcadia burned down in Dallas on July 21, 2006 . The arcadia was an old theater and venue for live acts, including those as varied as Jay Leno to punk rock acts. It was constructed in the 1920s and opened in 1927. In its latest incarnation it had been a dance club. I had a happy memory of it from high school when I caught the Circle Jerks and the Weirdos one night, and had a lot of fun in a mosh pit. It’s never a good thing when a landmark in the city burns down. Farewell to the Arcadia. There’s more information at http://www.associatedcontent.com.
